Willys Overland truck tailgate - WO stamped script ~1947

Description

Gate is solid, but there is surface rust, and is rusted through on the bottom.  This has the stamped WO script, which is no longer in production.  This could go on a non-restored truck or ratrod, or this could be repaired, or scabbed in on a new gate.  Would be more than ample for a wall hanger too.  The sheet metal of the script it still thick, and in good shape.  Circa approx. 1947, not certain of exact year.  May fit the forward control trucks as well.  Has the tailgate chain holder tabs as well - see photos.

While almost of the parts can be bought new for these old Willys Overland vehicles, as parts are still being made, the stamped WO logo is not in production, and you will be hard-pressed to find a viable alternative piece for your truck or project, unless you want to settle for a decal.  This could be the piece to complete your truck so it is historically accurate, to make a tribute bench, or one heck and unique wall hanger - regardless, it will be a great conversation starter anywhere.
I will refund excessive shipping costs.  Not sure what it costs to mail it.  I am fine with local pickup as well - I live in 61410 (Western IL) and frequently travel to the Ames, IA area as well, can coordinate a delivery/pickup between those two.
