DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
Ya'at'eeh, (Greetings) These vintage Native American Powwow dance regalia heavy fully beaded arm bands were labeled, Sioux, red cloth trade, not for sale. The owner turned them over to me just recently to offer here on eBay. I'll explain all the details that I see and ask that you reach out to your online experts. The set of arm bands are being offered 'as acquired' with a VERY LOW opening bid price and no reserve to get the auction rolling. By the way, these arm bands would look fabulous framed and on display in a superior Native American decor.
Both arm bands measure approx. 12 1/4" across the top x 10 1/2" across the bottom x 10 3/4" long. Both are fully glass beaded and quite heavy. The main colors are Red, White & Blue with a greasy yellow color bead in a Lakota Sioux Cross. The back lining is long gone on both which exposes the stitch work which is on a canvas type material, reminds me of something possibly military. The are remnants of a red wool type trade cloth that was used as a border that has bio-digraded from age, straps are hide. Someone at some point attempted to replace the red trade cloth with a red fabric ribbon. The actual date of creation is unknown to me but I can tell you the arm bands have been packed away for over 60 years.
