A tremendous elaborate vintage pictorial Plateau hand bag, tipi bag or sometimes referred to as "Doctors Bags" from the first half of the 20th century that is in lovely condition. Likely Yakima, Umatilla, Salish, Warm Springs or Nez Perce. It has beautiful faceted cut glass beads expertly laid down utilizing the overlay stitch. One side has an USA themed pictorial with an eagle and American flag motifs. The opposite side has a dazzling array of geometric designs and bead colors making this an EPIC show piece!! The bag is 100% completely beaded from stem to stern. There is a cute spiral beaded charm with a seashell end on it. The inner lining is a muslin type fabric with a small clip top coin purse sewn in. The side pocket interior is lined with canvas material with the printed muslin edgework. Shoulder strap tucked inside bag. Truly remarkable pictorial Plateau bag of museum quality that has never been for sale on the open market for many decades as it has been in private hands.
