Shoshone Beadwork Belt - Vintage and Beautiful!

Proudly presented today is this beautiful and vintage example of Plains Indian beadwork, in the form of ornately beaded belt. It is of Shoshone origin, and is 38 inches long and 4 inches across. The decoration consists of opposed triangles with a central
tepee
. The
workmanship
is just incredible. It dates from the 1940's
and is in very good condition, with just a few loose beads. The elk hide is by far the softest i have ever seen. It is part of a collection of a very well-known and highly respected Native American teacher,
lecturer
and curator, and it is an honor to assist her in making part of her vast collection available to you.
