Circa 1890 Santee Sioux Indian Beaded Gauntlets

Description

A pair of antique circa 1890 Santee Sioux Indian gauntlets, multicolored floral beading on the cuff, hand and fingers. Red trade cloth binding with red ribbon on native tanned hide. Old trade cloth lined. This exceptionally beautiful pair was crafted by hand with a multitude of color beads as shown. Each measures 13 1/2" x 5 3/4". In very good overall condition, normal light wear to trade cloth and a couple of spots of stitch loss to edging. No visual bead loss.
