ANTIQUE 1870-1890s BLACKFEET / PIKUNI MONTANA INDIAN FULL BEADED WALL POUCH

Description

Wonderful early example of a fully beaded WALL POUCH WHICH WERE POPULAR IN THE EARLY VICTORIAN TOMES ( c.1860-1890s). Made in northeastern Montana by the Pikuni ( Piegan ) group of Blackfeet. It is beaded on very old printed gingham type cloth and hand sewn with old cotton thread. Classic blackfeet mountain designs with a wonderful greasy Nez Perce' blue background and tiny translucent reds and mauve colored beads as well as the previously mentioned "Steelies " in a brass color. A perfect piece to add to a MUSEUM GRADE display and it has a LOW NO RESERVE PRICE !
